18-hole course plus 9-hole course, built in the early 1990s

Golf in the tri-border area of Upper Austria, South Bohemia and Bavaria. Built in the early 1990s with great respect for nature and the gently rolling terrain of the Mühlviertel, the facility comprises both an 18-hole and a 9-hole course. Fairways framed by hedges and woodland, with ponds, shrubs and mature trees, and greens well defended by sand and grass bunkers, make for a demanding round. The fairways are generously mown, so even a wayward shot usually leaves a way back into play.

  • I visited Golfpark Böhmerwald at the end of April. The 18-hole course is beautifully maintained and offers a varied layout with some quite steep sections. If you’re not used to walking inclines, I highly recommend renting a golf cart — you’re allowed to drive the cart freely across the course without restricted cart paths, which makes it very convenient. At the time of my visit, the clubhouse was under renovation. While limited in service due to the ongoing construction, it still provided access to toilets, showers, and golf equipment storage. The restaurant is currently closed as it’s being rebuilt. For golfers traveling with a motorhome or trailer, there are three designated parking spaces available with electricity (note: no water hookup at the site). It’s necessary to call in advance to check availability or to make a reservation. Due to the temporary situation with the clubhouse and facilities, I believe it’s not fair to rate the staff or overall clubhouse experience at this time. However, the golf course itself is enjoyable and scenic, and I’m looking forward to visiting again when the renovations are complete.

  • Letzte Woche erstmals gespielt. Platz ist hügelig aber fußläufig gut zu schaffen. Leider haben die Fairways infolge der Hitze im Sommer teilweise gelitten und aufgebrochen. Ab und zu schiefe Fairways und dadurch teilweise herausfordernd. Personal freundlich und bemüht. Gastronomie leider in Folge eines Brandes nicht verfügbar. Gerne wieder. HCP 22

  • Rezension bezieht sich auf Minigolf: Der Platz ist wirklich ordentlich, sauber und eine schöne Herausforderung. Sehr schöne Anlage! Allerdings ist der Preis etwas hoch: 9,50€ für Erwachsene.
